Model Reduction for Aperiodically Sampled Data Systems

open access: yes, 2017
Two approaches to moment matching based model reduction of aperiodically sampled data systems are given. The term "aperiodic sampling" is used in the paper to indicate that the time between two consecutive sampling instants can take its value from a pre ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

User preferences in ride-sharing mathematical models for enhanced matching

open access: yesScientific Reports
Ride-sharing services have attracted significant interest due to overcrowding, limited energy resources, and environmental concerns. This study proposes a mathematical programming model that integrates user preferences into the ride-sharing problem with ...

Epidemiological and evolutionary outcomes in gene-for-gene and matching allele models

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Gene-for-gene (GFG) and matching-allele (MA) models are qualitatively different paradigms for describing the outcome of genetic interactions between hosts and pathogens.

Complementarities and substitutabilities in matching models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper describes an equilibrium matching model with two types of workers producing two different intermediate goods. Labour markets are perfectly segmented, but productive complementarities between sectors and productive substitutability within ...

Bargaining and matching in small markets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The present paper focuses on markets where trade is carried out through matching and bargaining and where at each date t = 0,1, ... a finite and exogenously given number of agents enters.

Coresets Meet EDCS: Algorithms for Matching and Vertex Cover on Massive Graphs

open access: yes, 2018
As massive graphs become more prevalent, there is a rapidly growing need for scalable algorithms that solve classical graph problems, such as maximum matching and minimum vertex cover, on large datasets.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Match-Unity: Long-Form Text Matching With Knowledge Complementarity

open access: yesIEEE Access
Semantic text matching is a fundamental task in Natural Language Processing, with existing methods mainly focusing on short texts. However, handling long texts remains a challenge, as conventional approaches often involve slicing or keyword filtering ...
