On matrix Reinhardt domains

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 1990
Let D be a domain in the space \({\mathbb{C}}^ n[m\times m]={\mathbb{C}}^{nm^ 2}\) of n matrix variables with \(m\times m\) entries, i.e. the points of D are given by n-tuples \(Z=(Z_ 1,...,Z_ n)\) where \(Z_ i\in {\mathbb{C}}[m\times m]\) are \(m\times m\) matrices with complex entries, \(i=1,...,n\). D is called a matrix Reinhardt domain, if \((Z_ 1,.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

p160/SRC/NCoA coactivators form complexes via specific interaction of their PAS-B domain with the CID/AD1 domain

open access: yes, 2008
Transcriptional activation involves the ordered recruitment of coactivators via direct interactions between distinct binding domains and recognition motifs.

Faster 3D finite element time domain : Floquet absorbing boundary condition modelling using recursive convolution and vector fitting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A recursive convolution (RC) based on the vector fitting (VF) method and triangular temporal basis functions is employed to compute the Floquet absorbing boundary condition (FABC) formulation in the vector 3D finite element time-domain (FETD) modelling ...

Spatial frequency domain Mueller matrix imaging

open access: yesPolarized Light and Optical Angular Momentum for Biomedical Diagnostics, 2021
Mueller matrix polarimetry (MMP) and spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI) are wide-field optical imaging modalities that differentiate tissue primarily by structure alignment and photon transport coefficient, respectively. Because these effects can be related, combining MMP and SFDI may enhance tissue differentiation beyond the capability of each ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A class of alternate strip-based domain decomposition methods for elliptic partial differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The domain decomposition strategies proposed in this thesis are efficient preconditioning techniques with good parallelism properties for the discrete systems which arise from the finite element approximation of symmetric elliptic boundary value problems

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
