Matrix GLA protein modulates branching morphogenesis in fetal rat lung [PDF]
The regulation of matrix γ-carboxyglutamic acid protein (MGP) expression during the process of lung branching morphogenesis and development was investigated. MGP mRNA expression was determined over an embryonic and postnatal time course and shown to be developmentally regulated.

Vascular Calcification: Mechanisms, Models, and Therapies
ABSTRACT Vascular calcification represents an active multifactorial process that mirrors several key features of skeletal bone mineralization. Clinically, it is characterized by diminished arterial compliance and increased arterial wall stiffness, both of which serve as independent predictors of significant adverse cardiovascular events.

Beyond deficiency:Potential benefits of increased intakesof vitamin K for bone and vascular health [PDF]
Vitamin K is wellknown for its role in the synthesisof a number of blood coagulationfactors.During recent years vitaminK-dependent proteins werediscovered to be of vital importancefor bone and vascular health.Recommendations for dietary vitaminK intake ...

CDKN2A/p16INK4a expression is associated with vascular progeria in chronic kidney disease [PDF]
Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) display a progeric vascular phenotype linked to apoptosis, cellular senescence and osteogenic transformation. This has proven intractable to modelling appropriately in model organisms.

The identification of matrix Gla protein in cartilage.
The vitamin K-dependent bone protein matrix gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) protein (MGP) has been identified by radioimmunoassay in the guanidine extract of rat cartilage. MGP was present in all cartilages tested at levels comparable to the MGP level in bone.

Dietary supplementation with stearidonic acid–rich Echium and Ahiflower oils increases EPA levels across multiple mouse tissues, while DHA responses remain tissue‐specific and limited, supporting the strategic use of plant‐based omega‐3 sources for EPA‐focused interventions. ABSTRACT Omega‐3 fatty acids (n‐3 FA), particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)

Noggin depletion in adipocytes promotes obesity in mice. [PDF]
ObjectiveObesity has increased to pandemic levels and enhanced understanding of adipose regulation is required for new treatment strategies. Although bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) influence adipogenesis, the effect of BMP antagonists such as Noggin ...

ABSTRACT Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common virus that causes respiratory infections, posing a serious threat, particularly to infants, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems. As the leading cause of lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) in infants, RSV is responsible for millions of cases worldwide each year.
