The Maximal Singular Integral: Estimates in Terms of the Singular Integral [PDF]
This is an expository paper on the characterization of the even (or odd) smooth homogeneous convolution Calderón-Zygmund operators in R^n such that the maximal singular integral can be controlled in the L^2 norm by the singular integral. We focuss attention on special cases of the general statements to convey the main ideas of the proofs in a ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Semantic Relations and Information Discovery [PDF]
The treatment of semantic relations between terms is essential in information retrieval (IR). Each term in a thesaurus might have classes of synonymous, narrower, broader, or related terms. The ability to express formally the semantic relations is a core

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Changes of maximal flow regime in Arctic [PDF]
For the Russian Arctic territory, expected changes of multi-annual maximal flow statistics is estimated for the period of 2010-39. Results are obtained for the climate scenarios SRES:A2, SRES:A1B and SRES:B1 for four projections from Global Circulation ...

On Maximal Inequalities for some Jump Processes [PDF]
We present a solution to the considered in [5] and [22] optimal stopping problem for some jump processes. The method of proof is based on reducing the initial problem to an integro-differential free-boundary problem where the normal reflection and smooth

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
