Broiler skin and meat color changes during storage

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2002
The importance of poultry skin and meat color (both absolute and variations in color) in the market place have been well established. It has also been reported that these colors change over time. With the development of computer-assisted vision grading systems, the changes in skin and meat color during and after processing have become important, based ...

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Reveal Cell‐Type‐Specific Immune Regulatory Networks in Maize Responding to Southern Corn Rust

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating single‐nuclei and spatial transcriptomics, this study presents a stereoscopic landscape of maize leaf to Puccinia polysora infection. Epidermal and mesophyll cells initiate primary defenses via RLPs/RLKs and jasmonic acid signaling. Cell‐cell communication analyses further reveal the underlying the dynamics of the underlying immune ...

Rapid Remodeling of the Human Gut Microbiome in Response to Short‐Term Animal Product Restriction and Associations with Host Molecular Phenotypes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A real‐world model of structured animal product restriction practiced for religious reasons reveals the dynamic adaptability of the human gut microbiome to dietary change and uncovers reductions in diversity and rare taxa loss. Integrated microbiome, metabolomic, and proteomic analyses uncover coordinated taxonomic and molecular shifts and identify ...

Causal Prediction of TP53 Variant Pathogenicity Using a Perturbation‐Informed Protein Language Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A TP53‐specific predictor, CaVepP53, is developed by fine‐tuning ESMC on experimentally validated variants, quantifying pathogenicity via Euclidean distances. It outperforms general‐purpose models and extends to five cancer genes, enabling interpretable variant classification for precision medicine.
