Structural Comparison of Natural and Synthetic Nanocrystalline Hydroxyapatite

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2012
Background: Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral component of bones. Due to its high biocompatibility, it is widely used in the treatment of bone lesions or production of dental or orthopedic implants.

Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 65, 13 August 2026.
A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result

Shear‐Induced Emergence of Aromatic Superlow‐Friction Interfaces in Amorphous Carbon: Triggering Chemical Impurities and Atomic‐Scale Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
High‐throughput quantum‐mechanical simulations reveal that amorphous carbon undergoes shear‐driven structural transformation into aromatic, graphene‐like interfaces. This mechanochemical process is governed by dopant chemistry: dopants with valency less than four promote the emergence of superlow‐friction amorphous graphene, whereas tetra‐valent ...

CO2‐Assisted Hydrolysis of NaBH4: A Multi‐Function Platform for Enhanced Hydrogen Release, Regeneration of NaBH4, and CO2‐to‐CH4 Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
CO2 significantly accelerates hydrogen release from aqueous NaBH4 without metal catalysts, eliminating the need for downstream separation. Ball‐milling the hydrolytic products with Mg regenerates NaBH4 with yields exceeding 76% while simultaneously producing methane.

Mechanochemistry as an Emerging Tool for Organofluorine Chemistry

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
Fluorinated scaffolds are central across many areas of chemistry, driving the demand for efficient and sustainable synthetic methods. Mechanochemistry has emerged as a powerful alternative to conventional approaches, offering reduced environmental impact, shorter reaction times, and unique reactivity and selectivity.
