Determination of the median effective dose (ED50) of bupivacaine and ropivacaine unilateral spinal anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesDer Anaesthesist, 2017
Unilateral spinal anesthesia (USpA) has been reported to potentiate spinal anaesthesia and is used in geriatric patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the median effective dose (ED50) of 0.5% hypobaric bupivacaine and 0.5% hypobaric ropivacaine USpA for geriatric patients (age ≥ 70 years) undergoing elective hip replacement surgery.A ...

A New Distribution for Modeling both Blood Cancer Data and Median Effective Dose (ED50) of Artemether-Lumefantrine against P. falciparum

open access: yesEarthline Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2023
In this paper, a novel distribution was proposed for modeling data on Leukemia and median effective dose (ED50) of Artemether-Lumefantrine against Plasmodium falciparum. Plasmodium falciparum or P. falciparum is one of the protozoan species that causes malaria.

Determination of the median effective dose ( ED 50 ) of spinal chloroprocaine in labour analgesia [PDF]

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 2017
Summary The primary goal of this study was to determine the median effective dose ( ED 50 ) of spinal chloroprocaine for labour analgesia. Thirty‐eight parturients requesting neuraxial analgesia were enrolled. Doses of 1% chloroprocaine were determined by

ED50 of Propofol Combined with Nalbuphine on the Sedative Effect in Painless Hysteroscopy

open access: yesPain and Therapy, 2021
Introduction Nalbuphine has gradually become a commonly used clinical analgesic drug for painless hysteroscopy. The aim of our study was to identify the median effective dose (ED50) of propofol combined with nalbuphine for painless hysteroscopy.

Median effective doses (ED50) of halothane and chloroform in sensitive and resistant strains of Drosophila melanogaster.

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Genetics, 1980
Ether resistant strain (Eth-29) and one of the sensitive strains (bw; st; svn) which were assessed by mortalities, were used to determine median effective doses (ED50) of halothane and chloroform. It was demonstrated that the Eth-29 strain was resistant and the bw; st; svn strain was sensitive to both of halothane and chloroform anesthesia.

Median effective dose of nefopam to treat postoperative pain in patients who have undergone laparoscopic cholecystectomy

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2018
Objective Nefopam is thought to reduce postoperative pain; however, the evidence is insufficient. The recommended dose is 20 mg, and the median effective dose (ED50) in the surgical setting reportedly ranges from 17 to 28 mg.

Intrathecal dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to plain ropivacaine for spinal anesthesia during cesarean section: a prospective, double-blinded, randomized trial for ED50 determination using an up-down sequential allocation method

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2023
Background Intrathecal dexmedetomidine, as an adjuvant to local anesthetics, has been reported to improve the quality of spinal anesthesia and reduce the required local anesthetic dose.
