Shape Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Barbour's formulation of Mach's principle requires a theory of gravity to implement local relativity of clocks, local relativity of rods and spatial covariance. It turns out that relativity of clocks and rods are mutually exclusive.

Segmentation of stroke lesions using transformers‐augmented MRI analysis

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 45, Issue 11, August 1, 2024.
This work presents an innovative stroke lesion segmentation model that leverages a transformer‐based architecture, utilizing deformable feature attention mechanism for precise segmentation. It also uses an ecological data augmentation technique where real lesions are inserted into healthy brain scans, which enhances model training and improves ...

Synthesis of Peptides by Reactive Extrusion. Application to the Continuous and Solventless Preparation of Aspartame.

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 2, Issue 3-4, May 8, 2024.
Peptide synthesis was performed in a twin‐screw extruder. The reaction was achieved essentially in the absence of solvent, avoiding excesses of starting materials and reagents. This continuous flow mechanochemistry approach enabled the synthesis of a multi‐gram quantity of sweetener aspartame, a synthetic dipeptide.

Highly Regioselective 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Nitrilimines and Thioaurones Towards Spiro-2-Pyrazolines: Synthesis, Characterization, and Mechanistic Study

open access: yesReactions
In this paper, we report a highly regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (1,3-DC) reaction of nitrilimines with thioaurone derivatives that afforded the hitherto unreported spiropyrazolines. Spectroscopic and spectrometric data were utilized to confirm

A note on bigravity and dark matter

open access: yes, 2009
We show that a class of bi-gravity theories contain solutions describing dark matter. A particular member of this class is also shown to be equivalent to the Eddington-Born-Infeld gravity, recently proposed as a candidate for dark matter.

A Molecular Electron Density Theory Study of the Synthesis of Spirobipyrazolines through the Domino Reaction of Nitrilimines with Allenoates

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The reaction of diphenyl nitrilimine (NI) with methyl 1-methyl-allenoate yielding a spirobipyrazoline has been studied within molecular electron density theory (MEDT) at the MPWB1K/6-311G(d) computational level in dichloromethane.

A Molecular Electron Density Theory Study of the Chemoselectivity, Regioselectivity, and Diastereofacial Selectivity in the Synthesis of an Anticancer Spiroisoxazoline derived from α-Santonin

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The [3 + 2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction of an α-santonin derivative, which has an exocyclic C⁻C double bond, with p-bromophenyl nitrile oxide yielding only one spiroisoxazoline, has been studied within the molecular electron density theory ...
