A highly abundant circular RNA from the RMST locus plays a role in posterior fossa ependymoma pathogenesis

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
circRMST (hsa_circ_0099634) is by far the most abundant isoform from the RMST locus. It is highly expressed in cancer cells throughout ependymoma patient samples and is located in the cytoplasm. circRMST knockdown causes cell cycle arrest and induces differentiation, and it is a marker for poor prognosis. The figure is made using BioRender.

Early‐Onset Medullocervical Low‐Grade Glioma With FGFR1 Mutation and Leptomeningeal Spread in an Infant: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Pediatric low‐grade gliomas (PLGGs) are generally slow‐growing tumors associated with favorable long‐term outcomes. However, their occurrence in early infancy is rare, particularly when arising in the posterior fossa with extensive dissemination and hydrocephalus.

Hepatocyte growth factor/c‐Met signaling axis in human diseases: Mechanistic insights and therapeutic potential

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 2, June 2026.
Figure 1 visually summarizes the core biological functions and therapeutic potential of the HGF/c‐Met signaling axis. Abstract Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is a multifunctional cytokine that activates the tyrosine kinase activity of its specific receptor, c‐Met (mesenchymal–epithelial transition factor).

Genomic Characterization of Medulloblastoma

open access: yes, 2011
Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant pediatric brain tumour. Although survival rates have improved in recent years, long-term survivors exhibit a significantly diminished quality of life complicated by neurological, endocrine, intellectual, and ...

Beyond Glycolysis: Targeting Non‐Glycolytic Metabolic Pathways in Brain Tumors for Therapeutic Innovation: A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Metabolic reprogramming is a hallmark of brain tumors, extending beyond the classical Warburg effect. While glycolysis has been extensively studied, gliomas and pediatric high‐grade brain cancers demonstrate remarkable metabolic plasticity.
