Endocrinologic Control of Men's Sexual Desire and Arousal/Erection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Several hormones and neurotransmitters orchestrate men's sexual response, including the appetitive (sexual desire) and consummative (arousal and penile erection) phases.

Melanocyte Mitogens Induce Both Melanocyte Chemokinesis and Chemotaxis

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1995
It is believed that during repigmentation of vitiligo, inactive melanocytes in the outer root sheath of the hair follicle become activated, proliferate, and migrate into the depigmented skin. However, the mechanisms controlling melanocyte migration remain to be elucidated.

Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles Based on Carbon Nanotube Yarns and Eutectogel Derivatives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid‐state artificial muscles based on coiled commercial carbon nanotube yarns coated with eutectogel derivatives exhibit unipolar actuation through selective ion intercalation. Combining polyanionic and polycationic gels enables enhanced contractile stroke and high energy density.

Regulation of zebrafish melanocyte development by ligand-dependent BMP signaling

open access: yeseLife, 2019
Preventing terminal differentiation is important in the development and progression of many cancers including melanoma. Recent identification of the BMP ligand GDF6 as a novel melanoma oncogene showed GDF6-activated BMP signaling suppresses ...

High correlation between skin color based on CIELAB color space, epidermal melanocyte ratio, and melanocyte melanin content [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2018
Background To treat skin color disorders, such as vitiligo or burns, melanocytes are transplanted for tissue regeneration. However, melanocyte distribution in the human body varies with age and location, making it difficult to select the optimal donor ...

A Novel Sprayable Fibrinogen/Glycosaminoglycans/Collagen‐Based Bioink for Skin Wound Healing Applied by a Handheld Dual‐Head Airbrush

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐head airbrush‐based spraying device, combined with a fibrinogen bioink enriched with glycosaminoglycans and collagen, enables the delivery of biomaterials and cells to promote wound healing. This system demonstrates effective skin regeneration in vitro and in vivo, with comparable results to autografts.

A Case of Polypoid Intraoral Nevus in Buccal Mucosa: a Case Report

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ̒Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Bābul, 2020
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Mouth discoloration can be of internal or external origin. Melanotic nevus are the result of benign proliferation of melanocytes, the intraoral type of which is not as common as melanotic skin moles.

Melanocyte progenitor cells reside in human subcutaneous adipose tissue.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Based on the assumption that some progenitor cells in an organ might reside in neighboring adipose tissue, we investigated whether melanocyte progenitor cells reside in human subcutaneous adipose tissue.

Challenges to the development of antigen-specific breast cancer vaccines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Continued progress in the development of antigen-specific breast cancer vaccines depends on the identification of appropriate target antigens, the establishment of effective immunization strategies, and the ability to circumvent immune escape mechanisms.

Harnessing Next‐Generation 3D Cancer Models to Elucidate Tumor‐Microbiome Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Centralizes the microbiome within 3D tumor‐microbiome model platforms, including spheroids, organoids, 3D‐bioprinted constructs, and microfluidic chips, each enabling structured host‐tumor‐microbe studies. These systems support bacterial colonization, facilitating investigation of microbial impacts on tumor growth, immunity, and therapy. The microbiome
