Technique for repair of descemet membrane detachment
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1999To demonstrate a successful repair of an intractable Descemet membrane detachment.Case report. We used transcorneal mattress sutures to fixate Descemet membrane to the cornea in combination with intracameral air injection. This technique resulted in reattachment of Descemet membrane and a substantial visual acuity improvement after complete resolution ...

Annexins and plasma membrane repair
2019Plasma membrane wound repair is a cell-autonomous process that is triggered by Ca2+ entering through the site of injury and involves membrane resealing, i.e., re-establishment of a continuous plasma membrane, as well as remodeling of the cortical actin cytoskeleton.

Pubectomy For Repair of Membranous Urethral Strictures
Journal of Urology, 1979We treated 7 patients with membranous urethral strictures secondary to fractures of the pelvis with pubectomy and termino-terminal anastomosis of the urethra. All patients are free of catheters and urinary tract infection. The surgical technique provided good exposure of the membranous urethra because the incision of the pubis was wide.

Repair of Experimental Tympanic Membrane Perforations
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1980In this investigation the healing pattern of experimental central and marginal pars tensa perforations in cats and rats was studied by using light and scanning electronmicroscopic techniques. The perforations were closed by hyperplastic squamous epithelium exhibiting a marked keratin production.

Flexor tendon repair with amniotic membrane
International Orthopaedics, 2020Flexor tendon adhesion to tissues is one of the most frequent complications reported after flexor tendon repair. The human amniotic membrane (HAM) was used to wrap the tendon repair site to decrease fibrotic response and tendon adhesion.A total of 19 patients with flexor tendon injuries were subjected to surgical repair.

Membrane Injury and Repair in the Muscular Dystrophies
The Neuroscientist, 2014Muscle cells have an elaborate plasma membrane and t-tubule system that has been evolutionarily refined to maximize electrical conductivity for synchronous muscle contraction. However, this elaborate plasma membrane network has intrinsic vulnerabilities to stretch-induced membrane injury, and thus requires ongoing maintenance and repair.

Totally endoscopic tympanic membrane repair
HNO, 2021Transcanal totally endoscopic ear surgery (TEES) has become increasingly popular internationally; however, for surgeons trained with a two-handed microscope-guided approach, the potential challenges of adopting TEES can appear off-putting.This article outlines the pros and cons of TEES for tympanic membrane repair and describes aspects of surgical ...

Tympanic Membrane Repair With a Dermal Allograft
The Laryngoscope, 2001AbstractObjectives To assess the use of an acellular dermal allograft in the repair of chronic tympanic membrane perforations. Chronic tympanic membrane perforations are a common problem in otolaryngology, and although surgical tympanoplasty using either temporalis fascia or rice paper has proven to be highly successful, these materials are not without

Repair of Complete Tympanic Membrane Perforations
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1965COMPLETE or "pantympanic" perforations denote total loss of the tympanic membrane with the exception of a rim of pars tensa left as a remnant which is actually the annulus of the pars tensa. This perforation usually excludes the pars flaccida of the drum.

Crosslinked hydrogels for tympanic membrane repair
Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2006PROBLEMTo provide a less expensive and more convenient protocol for the treatment of tympanic membrane perforations (TMPs).METHODSSeveral materials were prepared and compared for TMP repair including Carbylan‐SX, Gelatin‐DTPH‐PEGDA (GX), Carbylan‐S/Gelatin‐DTPH (Carbylan‐GSX) (injectable and sponge), Gelfoam, Epifilm, and crosslinked thiolated ...
