Parabiosis, Assembloids, Organoids (PAO)
This review evaluates parabiosis, organoids, and assembloids as complementary disease models spanning systemic, organ, and multi‐organ levels. It highlights their construction strategies, applications, and current limitations, while emphasizing their integration with frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, organ‐on‐a‐chip, CRISPR, and ...

Electroencephalographic patterns of the goldfish (Carassius auratus l.) [PDF]
The first recordings of electrical potentials from the teleost brain were made by Adrian and Buytendijk (1931), who used isolated brain stem preparations from Carassius auratus L.

Análise volumétrica de cerebelo e tronco cerebral de pacientes com doença de Machado Joseph [PDF]
Machado-Joseph disease, or spinocerebellar ataxia type 3(MJD/SCA3), is the most frequent late onset spinocerebellar ataxia and results from a CAG repeat expansion in the ataxin-3 gene. Previous studies have found correlation between atrophy of cerebellum

The Single‐Nanostructured Optoelectronic Vehicle for neuromodulation Activation (SNOVA) establishes a paradigm for non‐genetic, implant‐free neuromodulation. By integrating NIR‐excitable UCNPs with broadband‐absorbing perovskite QDs, SNOVA efficiently converts deeply penetrating light into localized electric fields that modulate neuronal ion dynamics ...

Effect of certain psychopharmacological preparations on adaptation under stress conditions [PDF]
Experiments staged on rats demonstrated that the formation of pathological states caused by stress and accompanied by the development of ulcerative lesion of the gastric mucosa are associated with the degree of the catecholamines level drop in the ...

Evidence for the existence of homolateral and contralateral projections from the substantia nigra to the subthalamic nucleus in the rat [PDF]
Hemichorea/ballism is a rare neurological disorder but the crucial involvement of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) in its pathophysiology is appreciated since decades.

Increased Expression and Redistribution of the Antiapoptotic Molecule Bcl-xL in Parkinson's Disease
In the present study, we tried to clarify the potentially protective role of Bcl-xL, an anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins, in Parkinson's disease (PD).

In Parkinson's disease, SHMT1 downregulation disrupts its interaction with PEMT in astrocytes, reducing SAM levels. This leads to H3K4me1 hypomethylation and decreased Slc1a2/Glul expression, ultimately exacerbating neuroexcitotoxicity and dopaminergic neuron loss.
