Midline Rupture of the Mesencephalon
1983A midline rupture of the mesencephalon was found in 3 young males surviving closed head injury for 3-5 days. Other brain damage was relatively mild, but there was brain oedema with signs of herniation. In only one case were there symptoms of a hypothalamic lesion.

Aspects of the venous drainage of the pons and the mesencephalon
Neuroradiology, 1971After a brief resume of the morphology of the pontomesencephalic veins, the authors demonstrate the drainage dynamics of these veins in normal and pathlogical vertebral angio-seriograms. The repercussions of drainage impairment are illustrated.

Stereotaxic Atlas of the Mesencephalon in the Albino Rat
Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, 1971Adetailed stereotaxic atlas is presented of the mesencephalon in the albino rat of the Charles River derived (CD) strain. The Kopf stereotaxic frame was used and the head positioned to allow easy surgical access to the mesencephalon. To insure proper positioning of the head before operative intervention, the alignment was checked by two sets of ...

Nuclei and tracts of the di-mesencephalon of the parakeet
Cells Tissues Organs, 1976A number of nuclei and fibre systems of the parakeet di-mesencephalon, as visible in transverse series stained with the methods of Häggqvist and of Klüver and Barrera, have been described. In the preparations used, in which both neurones and myelinated fibres are visible, a relatively great number of elements can be distinguished, because of ...

[Veins in the area of the mesencephalon].
Gegenbaurs morphologisches Jahrbuch, 1988The veins on the surface of the mesencephalon were measured on 100 brain halves. The results of this measurements are discussed with issues of earlier authors.

Angio-architecture of the Mesencephalon
1978The majority of highly vascularized nuclei are in the mesencephalon. The capillary networks of the three zones of the midbrain, the tectum, tegmentum and crus cerebri will be described in this order.
