Rare but relevant: Hydrocarbons and sudden sniffing syndrome
Abstract Inhaled hydrocarbon‐associated sudden collapse (IHASC), often referred to as ‘sudden sniffing death syndrome’ is a critical and often fatal event linked to the inhalation of volatile hydrocarbons, primarily occurring in adolescents and young adults. Simultaneous Ex Situ Normothermic Perfusion of Paired Kidneys in Pigs
This pig model of simultaneous perfusion of paired kidneys in normothermia suggests that intra‐individual variation is relatively low, enabling one kidney to be employed as a reliable comparator of the other kidney for assessing treatments before kidney transplantation.

Development of a Protocol for Long‐Term Ex Vivo Normothermic Machine Perfusion of Rodent Livers
Long‐term normothermic machine perfusion (LT‐NMP) is the next revolution in liver transplantation and could support grafts for days, and potentially weeks. A rodent model of LT‐NMP is important for laboratory research, but has not been achieved until now. Our study describes a protocol for LT‐NMP of rodent livers.
