Functionalizing Injectable Hydrogels with Cobalt-Based Metallacarboranes for Targeted Delivery in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. [PDF]
This study reports a biocompatible HA–lysine hydrogel loaded with cobalt metallacarborane (CoSAN) for targeted release into triple‐negative breast cancer cells. The system maintains CoSAN cytotoxicity, as confirmed by cell assays and imaging, representing an attractive approach toward a localised TNBC treatment.

Stabilizing Anion–Anion Aggregates via Dihydrogen Bonds in Non‐Classical Inorganic Molecules
Coulomb's law predicts that like‐charge ions repel and avoid dimerization. However, a class of dimers between like‐charge ions is characterized. The [3,3’‐Fe(1,2‐C2B9H11)2]− (abbreviated as [o‐FESAN]−) represents an innovative non‐classical inorganic ...

Expanding the Range of Bioorthogonal Tags for Multiplex Stimulated Raman Scattering Microscopy. [PDF]
Hyperspectral stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy with spectral phasor analysis enables the multiplex detection of bioorthogonal Raman groups in cells. Unmixing of the overlapping alkyne and deuterium signals together with the detection of metallacarboranes is reported within the cell‐silent region of the Raman spectrum.

When the Ferrocene Analogy Breaks Down: Metallocene Transmetallation Chemistry
The transmetallation of a transition metal metallocene “like” compound is reported for the first time. While the parent ferrocene analogue Fe(bis)(dicarbollide) is inert to this reactivity its imidazolium and NHC functionalized derivatives undergo rapid transmetallation to Ir and Cu. Abstract Ferrocene 1 and its dianionic Fe(bis)(dicarbollide) analogue

Metallacarboranes as Photoredox Catalysts in Water [PDF]
AbstractMetallacarboranes with the shape of the Greek letter θ, such as [Co(C2B9H11)2]−, were tested, for the first time, as efficient photoredox catalysts in the oxidation of aromatic and aliphatic alcohols in water. Their efficiency is linked to their high solubility in water, their high oxidizing power (Co4+/3+), and their absence of fluorescence on

Metallacarboranes for proton therapy using research accelerators: a pilot study
The feasibility of using an external beam microprobe facility to explore the biological effects generated by proton irradiation in cultured cells is demonstrated. An in-air irradiation set-up was developed that allows energy tuning and enables estimating

Cobaltabis(dicarbollide) ([o-COSAN]−) as Multifunctional Chemotherapeutics: A Prospective Application in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) for Glioblastoma [PDF]
Purpose: The aim of our study was to assess if the sodium salt of cobaltabis(dicarbollide) and its di-iodinated derivative (Na[o-COSAN] and Na[8,8′-I2-o-COSAN]) could be promising agents for dual anti-cancer treatment (chemotherapy + BNCT) for GBM.
