Electrochemically driven regioselective C−H phosphorylation of group 8 metallocenes

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Metallocene-based phosphines are compounds with potential use in catalysis. Here, the authors report the electrochemical regioselective functionalization of group 8 metallocenes with phosphine oxides; over 60 examples of phosphorylated (benzo)ferrocenes ...

Photooxidation of Some Metallocenes in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesMolecules, 2005
The changes in the electronic absorption spectra (UV-Vis) of some metallocene-doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) thin films containing chloroform molecules as impurities were studied after photoexcitation in the nitrogen atmosphere.

A Borane Sandwich Analogue of Ferrocene

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first ferrocene analogue with two boron‐based ligands is identified through a global exploration of the FeB10H20 potential energy surface. The η5,η5‐Fe(B5H10)2 complex emerges as the global minimum, showing that metal coordination inverts borane stability and enables aromatic boron rings inaccessible in isolation.

Photoelectron spectra of metallocenes

open access: yesJournal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1980
Abstract The He(II) spectra of the unsubstituted metallocenes {M(η-C5H5)2}, M  V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Ru, and of {Mn(η-C5H4Me)2} are reported; both He(I) and He(II) spectra of some decamethylmetallocenes {M(η-C5Me5)2}, where M  Mg, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni, are also given.

Enantioselective Synthesis of a New Class of Stable and Functionalized Cyclopentadienes via CuH‐Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cyclopentadienes (CpHs) are fundamental building blocks with widespread applications in chemistry. However, their inherent acidity and isomeric instability have long limited access to chiral variants in an asymmetric fashion. Here, we introduce a CuH‐catalyzed asymmetric transformation that provides an unprecedented entry into a new class of ...

Propene-cycloolefin polymerization [PDF]

open access: yesPolyolefins Journal, 2014
Highly active metallocenes and other single site catalysts have opened up the possibility of polymerizing cycloolefins such as norbornene (N) or of copolymerizing them with ethene (E) or propene (P).

Reductive Activation of White Phosphorus to [P4]2–, [P2]2–, and a Formal P2– Radical by Rare‐Earth Dinitrogen Complexes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Masked divalent yttrium and gadolinium dinitrogen complexes mediate the fragmentation of white phosphorus, converting P4 into discrete dimetallic complexes of [P4]2– and [P2]2– ligands, and an unprecedented monatomic P2– radical ligand. Structural, spectroscopic, magnetic, and DFT studies reveal insight into the bonding between these unusual Pn units ...

Paramagnetic Solid-State NMR Study of Solid Solutions of Cobaltocene with Ferrocene and Nickelocene

open access: yesMagnetochemistry
The metallocenes ferrocene (Cp2Fe, 1), nickelocene (Cp2Ni, 2), and cobaltocene (Cp2Co, 3) crystallize in the same space group (P21/a) and they have the same shape and similar size.
