Whole‐Blood RNA Sequencing Profiling of Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis Treated With Tofacitinib

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) often fail to respond to therapies, including JAK inhibitors (JAKi), and treatment allocation is made via a trial‐and‐error strategy. A comprehensive analysis of responses to JAKi, including tofacitinib, by RNA sequencing (RNAseq) would allow the discovery of transcriptomic markers with a two‐fold ...

Assessing usability, label comprehension, pen robustness and pharmacokinetics of a self-administered prefilled autoinjector pen of methotrexate in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine, 2014
Objective: To assess usability, bioavailability, and safety of subcutaneous self-administration of 0.3 mL of methotrexate 50 mg/mL solution via a prefilled autoinjector pen (methotrexate pen) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory joint disease, which can cause cartilage and bone damage as well as disability. Early diagnosis is key to optimal therapeutic success, particularly in patients with well-characterised risk factors for poor ...

Immunosuppressive Cytokine‐Tethered Hydrogel for Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An injectable hydrogel is developed by chemically tethering IL‐4, an immunosuppressive cytokine, to a hyaluronic acid‐based backbone. The hydrogel reduces joint friction and exerts immunomodulatory effects. In a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) mouse model, it reduced inflammation, preserved cartilage, and promoted anti‐inflammatory immune responses.

The role of nitric oxide in small intestine differs between a single and a consecutive administration of methotrexate to rats

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2020
The role of nitric oxide (NO) on intestinal mucosal injury induced by single or consecutive administration of methotrexate was investigated in a rodent model. Rats received methotrexate intraperitoneally either as a single administration (50 mg/kg) or as

Synthesis of Methotrexate loaded Cerium fluoride nanoparticles with pH sensitive extended release coupled with Hyaluronic acid receptor with plausible theranostic capabilities for preclinical safety studies [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
A key challenge in drug delivery systems is the real time monitoring of delivered drug and subsequent response. Recent advancement in nanotechnology has enabled the design and preclinical implementation of novel drug delivery systems (DDS) with theranostic abilities.

A Bayesian Joint model for Longitudinal DAS28 Scores and Competing Risk Informative Drop Out in a Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinical Trial [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Rheumatoid arthritis clinical trials are strategically designed to collect the disease activity score of each patient over multiple clinical visits, meanwhile a patient may drop out before their intended completion due to various reasons. The dropout terminates the longitudinal data collection on the patients activity score.

Implantable Microarray Patch: Engineering at the Nano and Macro Scale for Sustained Therapeutic Release via Synthetic Biodegradable Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This review focuses on the application of synthetic biodegradable microarray patches (MAPs) in sustained drug delivery. Compared to conventional MAPs which release drugs into the skin in an immediate manner, these implantable MAPs release drugs into skin microcirculation gradually as the biodegradable polymers degrade, thus offering sustained release ...
