Salicylic acid and nitric oxide alleviate high temperature induced oxidative damage in Lablab purpureus L plants by regulating bio-physical processes and DNA methylation.

Plant physiology and biochemistry : PPB, 2018
Salicylic acid (SA) and sodium nitroprusside (SNP, NO donor) modulates plant growth and development processes and recent findings have also revealed their involvement in the regulation of epigenetic factors under stress condition.

DNA damaging activity of methyl parathion.

Research communications in chemical pathology and pharmacology, 1991
14C-methyl parathion was covalently bound to DNA, RNA and proteins of various rat and mouse organs 22 hr after i.p. injection. Covalent binding index (CBI) to liver DNA was low in both species and typical of weak initiators. The labelings of RNA and proteins from different organs of both species was slightly higher than DNA binding. No interaction with

Creep behavior of poly(methyl methacrylate) with growing damage

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2008
A simple optical technique is used to quantify creep crazing damage in a uniaxially stressed transparent glassy polymeric sheet of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) at room temperature. The areal craze densities are taken as a measure of the crazing damage. It is shown that the crazing damage increases with nominal applied stress and creep time.

DNA Methylation Damage: Formation, Repair and Biological Consequences

2007
DNA methylating agents are powerful mutagens and carcinogens. They are endogenously formed, are present in food, beverages and tobacco smoke and are being used in cancer therapy. Methylating agents attack DNA at 13 sites. The main mutagenic and carcinogenic DNA lesion is O6-methylguanine, whereas both N-methylation lesions and O6-methylguanine ...

Monitoring for DNA damage of humans occupationally exposed to methyl bromide.

Anticancer research, 2002
Methyl bromide (MeBr) is a methylating agent, weak mutagen and possible animal carcinogen. A molecular epidemiological study to examine human exposure to, and consequent DNA damage by MeBr was conducted in an area where this agent is used extensively for soil sterilisation in greenhouses.During the first part of the study, blood samples were collected ...
