LIN‐24 as a Molecular Switch: Dual Cytotoxic and Cytoprotective Roles of an Aerolysin‐Like Protein in C. elegans

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, Volume 46, Issue 4, Page 1076-1082, April 2026.
ABSTRACT LIN‐24, an aerolysin‐like pore‐forming protein in Caenorhabditis elegans, exemplifies how ancient cytolytic mechanisms have evolved into regulated cellular processes. Initially identified for inducing nonapoptotic, engulfment‐dependent cell death in vulval precursor cells, LIN‐24 has emerged as a multifunctional regulator of metabolism, stress

Nanoceria Nanozyme Attenuates CoCl2‐Induced Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Dysfunction in H9c2 Cardiomyoblasts

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study shows that nanoceria protect H9c2 cardiomyoblasts from CoCl2‐induced chemical stress. Nanoceria reduces reactive oxygen species, preserves mitochondrial function, and regulates genes involved in antioxidant defense, intrinsic apoptosis, and inflammation. These findings highlight nanoceria's potential as a redox‐active nanozyme for protecting

EU transfers and the next financial framework [PDF]

open access: yes
The main aim of the paper is to display and analyse both the revenue and the expenditure side of the future budget which came to light in the Commission proposal concerning the EU new Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) of 2014-2020.

Mff‐Dependent Mitochondrial Fission Contributes to the Pathogenesis of Cardiac Microvasculature Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury via Induction of mROS‐Mediated Cardiolipin Oxidation and HK2/VDAC1 Disassociation‐Involved mPTP Opening

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2017
Background The cardiac microvascular system ischemia/reperfusion injury following percutaneous coronary intervention is a clinical thorny problem. This study explores the mechanisms by which ischemia/reperfusion injury induces cardiac microcirculation ...

NASTRAN nonlinear vibration analysis of beam and frame structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A capability for the nonlinear vibration analysis of beam and frame structures suitable for use with NASTRAN level 15.5 is described. The nonlinearity considered is due to the presence of axial loads induced by longitudinal end restraints and lateral ...

Simplicial gauge theory on spacetime

open access: yes, 2011
We define a discrete gauge-invariant Yang-Mills-Higgs action on spacetime simplicial meshes. The formulation is a generalization of classical lattice gauge theory, and we prove consistency of the action in the sense of approximation theory.

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Scalar Meson Spectroscopy with Lattice Staggered Fermions

open access: yes, 2007
With sufficiently light up and down quarks the isovector ($a_0$) and isosinglet ($f_0$) scalar meson propagators are dominated at large distance by two-meson states.
