Microassembly of spheroids by thermoresponsive gel probe
2014 International Symposium on Micro-NanoMechatronics and Human Science (MHS), 2014In this paper, manipulation of cell spheroids was conducted to construct 3D cell structures for tissue engineering applications. The spheroids were manipulated using thermoresposnive gel, and the cell viability was checked. The manipulated cells show more than 90 % viability.

Integration of Microcircuitry Into Microassemblies
IRE Transactions on Military Electronics, 1961The necessity to hybridize newer microcircuitry techniques with existing design capabilities to achieve efficient equipment designs is established. An analysis is presented of the net size and weight advantages calculated for several components of a typical weapons system, as first the micromodule and then, progressively, thin-film and solid-circuit ...

A novel visual servoing microassembly system
2012 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Cloud Computing and Intelligence Systems, 2012The focus of this paper is the design and development of an automatic system for microassembly. The automatic processing is made possible by (i) the development of a machine vision algorithm to identify the targets and end-effectors, (ii) an uncalibrated visual servoing algorithm to lead the end-effector to grasp the micro-pieces and then assemble the ...

Fabrication of a microcoil through parallel microassembly
2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012This paper presents the fabrication of a three-dimensional microcoil through the technique of microassembly. The microcoil design is comprised of nine out-of-plane micro-sized windings. Each winding was assembled onto the base substrate orthogonally by a robotic manipulator through microassembly.

Contact and force control in microassembly
Proceedings of the IEEE International Symposium onAssembly and Task Planning, 2003., 2004This paper aims at advancing micromanipulation technology with in-situ PVDF piezoelectric force sensing and control during microassembly and packaging process. To allow close monitoring of magnitude and direction of forces (surface, friction, and assembly force) acting on micro devices during manipulation, the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is used to ...

Microassembly station with controlled environment
SPIE Proceedings, 2001With the trend of miniaturization of mechatronics products, the demands on microassembly increase substantially. Due to the scaling effect, handling and planning in microassembly is considerably different from those in conventional assembly. One important issue is to study how the environmental parameters will shape the scaling effect and consequently ...

Development of Haptic Microgripper for Microassembly Operation
2010In recent times, dimensions of consumer products have decreased, with components sizes ranging down to micrometers/nanometers. In case of microproducts that are produced in low-medium quantities with many variants, the automation of their assembly process may not be economically profitable.
