Effects of pulsed electric field processing on the quality and microbial inactivation of sour cherry juice

open access: yes, 2010
Pulsed electric fields (PEF) processing of sour cherry juice with the measurement of pH, °Brix, titratable acidity, conductivity, colour (L*, a* and b*), nonenzymatic browning index, metal ion concentration, total ascorbic acid and total antocyanin ...

A Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas of the Ovine Rumen Microbiome Characterizes Lineage‐Specific Metabolic Shifts Associated with Host Heat Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

Use of the “Ru‐1O2‐Hydrazide” System Catalyzed by Metallic Ruthenium Complexes to Decipher the Interaction Between Microbes and Host Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The dynamic interplay between bacteria and host cancer cells plays a critical role in tumor microenvironment modulation, bacterial pathogenesis, and potential oncotherapy applications. However, traditional methods often fail to capture transient or spatially restricted molecular interactions at the bacteria‐cancer cell interface.

Nano‐Backpack Engineered Probiotics with Reactive Oxygen Species–Responsive Tungsten Release for Synergistic Therapy of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated probiotic system is engineered to execute a programmed therapeutic cascade against inflammatory bowel disease. Upon pathological signals, the system sequentially performs ROS scavenging, tungsten release, and selective pathogen suppression, thereby breaking the oxidative stress–dysbiosis cycle to remodel gut microbiota and reinforce ...

Aging and Electrical Stability of DNTT Honey‐Gated OFETs

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
DNTT honey‐gated organic transistors were fabricated and evaluated to assess short‐ and long‐term stability under electrical stress and aging. Short‐term transfer measurements (five days, 40 sweeps/day) showed minimal parameter shift, while extended measurements revealed gradual degradation over weeks.

Microbial Degradation of Chloroaromatics: Use of the meta-Cleavage Pathway for Mineralization of Chlorobenzene [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Pseudomonas putida GJ31 is able to simultaneously grow on toluene and chlorobenzene. When cultures of this strain were inhibited with 3-fluorocatechol while growing on toluene or chlorobenzene, 3-methylcatechol or 3-chlorocatechol, respectively ...
