Abstract Bioluminescent bays (biobays) are uncommon coastal ecosystems featuring dense populations of dinoflagellates, often found in mangrove‐ringed lagoons with long water retention times and high organic matter (OM) levels. Although mangroves are associated with high dinoflagellate abundance, it remains uncertain how inorganic nutrients compare with

Heat stress induces organelle alterations in Macrocystis pyrifera gametophytes
Abstract Kelp, brown macroalgae in the order Laminariales, provide ecosystem services vital to ocean biodiversity. However, kelp forests worldwide are declining due to abiotic stressors such as ocean warming. In this study, we present results from high‐resolution confocal microscopy and in vivo imaging system imaging using protocols developed to ...

Nitric Oxide Tunes Secreted Metabolite Bioactivity
Pseudomonas aeruginosa produces phenazine metabolites that can react with nitric oxide (·NO) to form nitrosylated compounds. The formation of these metabolites results in rapid loss in P. aeruginosa viability and diminishes phenazine antimicrobial activity against other organisms, including Staphylococcus aureus. ABSTRACT The radical nitric oxide (·NO)

Elevation shapes alpine snow algal blooms and their influence on albedo reduction
Graphical summary of elevational trends in Sanguina‐dominated snow algal blooms. Increasing elevation was associated with larger cells, lower Chla content per cell, higher astaxanthin ratios, lower snow water content, and reduced cell‐normalized albedo, whereas algal cell density showed no consistent elevational trend.

ABSTRACT Carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus) contains abundant flavonoid glycosides (FGs), which are important natural functional and colour components. However, there are few reports on the modification of UDP‐glycosyltransferases (UGTs) in relation to flavonoids in carnation.
