Cell migration, DNA fragmentation and antibacterial properties of novel silver doped calcium polyphosphate nanoparticles

open access: yesScientific Reports
To combat infections, silver was used extensively in biomedical field but there was a need for a capping agent to eliminate its cytotoxic effects. In this study, polymeric calcium polyphosphate was doped by silver with three concentrations 1, 3 or 5 mol.%

STUDY OF MICROBIAL PIGMENTS AS ANTIDANDRUFF AGENTS

open access: yesINDIAN JOURNAL OF APPLIED RESEARCH, 2020
Dandruff is common problem affecting human beings and thus hair care industries are focusing on development of antidandruff agents. Malassezia species, lipophilic yeasts are the main causative agents of dandruff. Currently Zinc pyrithione, Ketoconazole are widely used as antidandruff agents.

Modeling chronic periodontitis in rats: Persistent alveolar bone loss mediated by periodontal pathogens

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Irrigation of periodontal pockets with human periopathogens, in combination with a 14‐day ligature‐induced periodontitis protocol, significantly enhances alveolar bone loss and sustains bacterial colonization for up to 28 days following ligature removal, thereby more closely replicating the chronic nature of human periodontitis compared to the ligature

Effect of ultrasonication on microbial quality, colour and ascorbic acid of passion-fruit juice during storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Passion fruit juice (PFJ) has a delicate flavour very susceptible to thermal degradation. This study pursued to test the effect of sonication as non-thermal preservation method on some quality parameters of PFJ.

Integrated Evaluation of Contaminant Profiles, Detection Techniques, and Management Strategies for Tannery Sludge

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This review article critically examines the environmental and health hazards of tannery sludge (TS), a complex by‐product of the leather tanning industry. TS is characterized by a diverse array of contaminants, including heavy metals like chromium, organic pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), volatile organic compounds ...
