Effect of starch and glycerol on the properties of alginate-microcapsules creating by phase separation coacervation method

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of our research was to prepare probiotic micro-capsules with alginate, starch, glycerol and to evaluate effect of different microcapsules formula on their properties. Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 were encapsulated in alginate microcapsules

Transition Metal Compounds as Thermochromic Materials: Classification, Properties, Limitations, and Applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

Preparation and Characterization of Double-Layered Microcapsules Containing Nano-SiO2

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2021
The double-layered microencapsulation technology has been used in many fields. In this study, the double-layered microencapsulated anthocyanin of Passiflora edulis shells (APESs) was prepared via complex coacervation using gelatin and gum Arabic as the ...

Swelling behaviour of alginate-chitosan microcapsules prepared by external gelation or internal gelation technology

open access: yes, 2004
Swelling behaviour is one of the important properties for microcapsules made by hydrogels, which always affects the diffusion and release of drugs when the microcapsules are applied in drug delivery systems. In this paper, alginate-chitosan microcapsules

Thermochromic Radiative Cooling Coatings with Robust Superhydrophobicity for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A scalable, color‐adaptive radiative cooling coating is developed to enable dynamic spectral regulation via a reversible thermochromic transition at ~45 °C and a high solar reflectance of 91.7%. The coating achieves 4.44 °C outdoor sub‐ambient cooling while providing robust superhydrophobicity and environmental durability through its micro/nano ...

Reversible Nontoxic Thermochromic Microcapsules.

open access: yes, 2020
Thermochromic materials exhibit a color change in response to a change in temperature. Creating nontoxic microcapsules containing thermochromic materials for applications in ink and film materials is historically challenging.

Dual‐Mode Electrophoretic Displays Enabled by Quantum Dot‐Decorated PR48:2 Pigment Particles and TiO2 for All‐Weather Visibility, Excellent Bistability, and Enhanced Readability

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel quantum dot electrophoretic display (QDEPD), which combines electro‐controlled reflection and optically‐triggered emission to achieve efficient multi‐modal switching within a single pixel. By incorporating multi‐component nanostructures, the system enhances functional integration and multi‐modal response capabilities.
