A novel graphene‐based broad‐spectrum infrared (BSIR) device is developed for the noninvasive treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). BSIR irradiation effectively alleviates colonic inflammation and accelerates mucosal recovery by inducing the systemic relocation of T lymphocytes to the spleen.

The Impact of Metformin on Reducing Inflammation, Edema, and Colonic Tissue Damage in Rats with Acetic Acid–Induced Ulcerative Colitis [PDF]
Background and purpose: Oxidative stress and inflammation play a significant role in the development of ulcerative colitis. Consequently, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents may be effective in treating this condition.

Long-term culture captures injury-repair cycles of colonic stem cells [PDF]
The colonic epithelium can undergo multiple rounds of damage and repair, often in response to excessive inflammation. The responsive stem cell that mediates this process is unclear, in part because of a lack of in vitro models that recapitulate key ...

ABSTRACT Currently, small‐molecular‐weight collagen peptides are a research hotspot in functional factor development due to their high bioavailability and diverse bioactivities. In this study, gelatin was extracted from tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) scales by hot water extraction, followed by pepsin hydrolysis and ultrafiltration to obtain the < 3 ...

In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...

Clinical Characteristics of Microscopic Colitis in Korea: Prospective Multicenter Study by KASID
Background/AimsMicroscopic colitis (MC) encompasses collagenous and lymphocytic colitis and is characterized by chronic diarrhea. In cases of MC, colonic mucosae are macroscopically normal, and diagnostic histopathological features are observed only upon

Abstract Objective To investigate the role of ST3 β‐galactoside α‐2,3‐sialyltransferase 1 (ST3Gal1) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGF‐R2) in endometrioid‐type epithelial ovarian cancer (E‐OC) because aberrant α2,3‐sialylation mediated by ST3Gal1 and VEGF‐R2‐related angiogenesis is linked with tumor progression. Methods ST3Gal1 and

Evolution of ideas on microscopic colitis
The literature review gives the present-day views of the definition, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of microscopic colitis (MC). In the present view, MC is an inflammatory bowel disease of unknown etiology, which is characterized by ...
