A Myelin Debris Cleaner for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery: Polycaprolactone / Cell Membrane Assembled Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
pMM‐PCL, made up of pretreated macrophage menbrane and polycaprolactone, boasts the adsorption of harmful myelin debris in the microenvironment of spinal cord injury. Abstract After spinal cord injury (SCI), a mass of myelin debris derived from injured myelin sheath will be consistently generated and induce macrophages to be foam cells.

Neuronal FGF13 Inhibits Mitochondria‐Derived Damage Signals to Prevent Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration in a Mouse Model of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates a novel role of FGF13 in manipulating neuronal fate via mitochondrial transfer. FGF13 is identified as a mitochondria‐stabilizing protein by interacting with mitochondrial proteins. Under stress, the decrease of neuronal FGF13 fails to retain mitochondria within the cytoplasm, leading to the release of damaged mitochondria to ...

Near‐Infrared Afterglow Imaging‐Guided Surgical Resection and Synergistic Photodynamic‐Chemo Therapy of Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CDSP NPs theranostic platform assembled from CDs and paclitaxel prodrugs is developed. CDSP NPs have long‐lasting NIR afterglow, penetrate deep tissues, and offer a high signal‐to‐noise ratio, enabling NIR afterglow imaging‐guided precise breast cancer removal to prevent recurrence.

Ultrasensitivity of microtubule severing due to damage repair

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Microtubule-based cytoskeletal structures aid in cell motility, cell polarization, and intracellular transport. These functions require a coordinated effort of regulatory proteins which interact with microtubule cytoskeleton distinctively.

Intermediate Filament Protein BFSP1 Maintains Oocyte Asymmetric Division by Modulating Spindle Length

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Different from mitosis, the female meiosis undergoes asymmetric division that produces haploid oocytes and polar body, which is essential for retaining maternal components to support subsequent fertilization and embryo development. However, the underlying mechanisms are still largely unknown.
