The Neutral Sphingomyelinase 2 Is Required to Polarize and Sustain T Cell Receptor Signaling
By promoting ceramide release at the cytosolic membrane leaflet, the neutral sphingomyelinase 2 (NSM) is capable of organizing receptor and signalosome segregation. Its role in T cell receptor (TCR) signaling remained so far unknown. We now show that TCR-

General theory for the mechanics of confined microtubule asters [PDF]
In cells, dynamic microtubules organize into asters or spindles to assist positioning of organelles. Two types of forces are suggested to contribute to the positioning process: (i) microtubule-growth based pushing forces ; and (ii) motor protein mediated

Paxillin Localizes to the Lymphocyte Microtubule Organizing Center and Associates with the Microtubule Cytoskeleton [PDF]
Paxillin is a focal adhesion-associated protein that functions as a multi-domain adapter protein, binding several structural and signaling molecules. alpha-Tubulin was identified as an interacting protein in a two-hybrid screen using the paxillin C-terminal LIM domain as a bait.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

LDLR expression and localization are altered in mouse and human cell culture models of Alzheimer's disease. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disorder and the most common form of dementia. The major molecular risk factor for late-onset AD is expression of the epsilon-4 allele of apolipoprotein E (apoE), the major cholesterol ...

Cell proliferation, cell shape, and microtubule and cellulose microfibril organization of tobacco BY-2 cells are not altered by exposure to near weightlessness in space [PDF]
The microtubule cytoskeleton and the cell wall both play key roles in plant cell growth and division, determining the plant’s final stature. At near weightlessness, tubulin polymerizes into microtubules in vitro, but these microtubules do not self ...

Tailored Xenogeneic‐Free Polymer Surface Promotes Dynamic Migration of Intestinal Stem Cells
This study introduces a PoLymer‐coated Ultra‐stable Surface (PLUS), a nitrogen plasma‐treated poly(ethyleneglycoldimethacrylate), as a stable xenogeneic‐free platform for intestinal stem cell culture. PLUS enhances cell attachment, supports actin‐driven migration, and retains functionality after 3 years of storage. Promoting cytoskeletal reorganization,
