Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Cardiac ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) is associated with a high rate of complications. Restoring microvascular function is crucial for cardiac repair. However, the molecular mechanisms by which the circRNAs repairs microvascular dysfunction are unknown ...

Perivascular matrix densification promotes the emergence of aberrant endothelial tip cells (ATECs) that invade and persist within fibrotic microenvironments. Using in vivo lineage tracing and a human microvessel model, this study shows that fibrous matrix cues destabilize VE‐cadherin–mediated junctions to gate TGF‐β signaling, inducing a pro ...

A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

Context Recent studies have shown compound Danshen dripping pills (CDDP) could improve microcirculation in ischemic/reperfusion injury and other microvascular disorders. The mechanism for CDDP’s role in microcirculation is not clear. Objective To explore

Microvascular Dysfunction Is Associated With Worse Cognitive Performance The Maastricht Study [PDF]
Microvascular dysfunction may be associated with worse cognitive performance. Most previous studies did not adjust for important confounders, evaluated only individual measures of microvascular dysfunction, and showed inconsistent results.

Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.

Dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) is a crucial regulator of mitochondrial dynamics, the overactivation of which can lead to cardiovascular disease. Multiple distinct posttranscriptional modifications of Drp1 have been reported, among which S-nitrosylation
