Synchrotron Phase Tomography: An Emerging Imaging Method for Microvessel Detection in Engineered Bone of Craniofacial Districts

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2017
The engineering of large 3D constructs, such as certain craniofacial bone districts, is nowadays a critical challenge. Indeed, the amount of oxygen needed for cell survival is able to reach a maximum diffusion distance of ~150–200 μm from the original ...

Bradykinin Receptors of Cerebral Microvessels Stimulate Phosphoinositide Turnover

open access: yes, 1991
We examined by ligand binding methods whether bradykinin (BK) receptors exist in rat and pig cerebral microvessels, and in the cerebral cortex from which the microvessels were isolated. We found a high-affinity and saturable BK receptor site in both rat

GLS1 Orchestrates Exosome‐Mediated Tumor‐Endothelial Communication to Facilitate Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a previously unappreciated, non‐metabolic function of GLS1 in the control of tumor angiogenesis via exosome‐mediated CAV1‐TNC signaling, indicating that therapeutic targeting of GLS1 may offer a dual benefit by simultaneously suppressing tumor metabolic activity and angiogenic processes in head and neck cancer. ABSTRACT Glutaminase 1

BH4 bioavailability was decreased in cortical and hippocampal microvessels as compared to microvessels from the cerebellum.

open access: yes, 2015
Biopterin levels, BH4 and BH2, were analyzed by HPLC. (A) Total biopterin levels were unchanged between microvessels isolated from the three brain regions.

High‐Performance Prevascularized SHED‐Laden rGO@Hydrogel Achieves Optimized Diabetic Bone Defect Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐performance 3D scaffold integrating rGO and SHEDs is developed to overcome impaired healing in diabetic bone defects. By driving extracellular matrix remodeling, rGO creates a pro‐angiogenic niche that significantly accelerates in vitro vascular network formation.

Immunohistochemical Assessment of Mast Cells and Small Blood Vessels in Dentigerous Cyst, Odontogenic Keratocyst, and Periapical Cyst [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2015
Purpose: The aim of this study was to verify the density of mast cells (MCs) and microvessels in odontogenic cysts. Furthermore, the correlation between MCs and microvessels was evaluated to assess the contribution of MCs to angiogenesis and growth of ...

Dual‐Stage Microneedle Patch With Lipid Droplet‐Mediated ‘Capture‐Kill’ and Sustained Release for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a lipid‐droplet‐engineered, gallium‐loaded sonodynamic therapeutic platform (LDTG) incorporated into a bilayer microneedle (MN) patch co‐delivering all‐trans retinoic acid (ATRA), termed LDTG A‐MNs, for synergistic antibacterial therapy and accelerated wound repair.

SPONTANEOUS SUBUNGUAL HEMORRHAGES IN A PATIENT WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME AND HYPERHOMOCYSTEINEMIA: A CASE REPORT

open access: yesJuvenis Scientia, 2020
Spontaneous (nontraumatic) subungual hemorrhages are not uncommon, however, given their low specificity, they usually do not become a reason for an in-depth investigation in the absence of other symptoms of diseases requiring diagnostics.

Multi‐Axis Stretchable Zippers for Personalized Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐axis stretchable zippers can adapt to complex wound morphologies and enable personalized wound treatment through programmable contraction. This morphological matching strategy helps accelerate wound closure, improve blood perfusion, promote epithelial regeneration, and enhance collagen remodeling, pioneering new directions for personalized and ...
