Energy performance evaluation of variable-speed milk refrigerator using propane (R290)

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Engineering Sciences
Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) such as R134a, R410A, and R407C may not be the long-term solution for the HVAC & R industry due to their higher potential for global warming. People’s interest is now shifting toward alternate refrigerants like hydrocarbons (

Alternative milk formulas in allergies to proteins in cow's milk.

open access: yesJournal of investigational allergology & clinical immunology, 1994
A variety of "hypoallergenic" formulas have appeared on the market over the last few years for feeding lactating infants prone to a high atopic risk of allergy to cow's milk. These formulas consist of soya preparations, hydrolyzed proteins and so-called basic formulas.

Fostering behaviour and milk stealing in Antarctic fur seals

open access: yes, 1992
During the lactation period, female otariid seals alternate trips at sea to feed with visits ashore to nurse their pups. A female returning ashore must be able to recognize her own pup, and it is generally agreed that this is facilitated by auditory and ...

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Vegetable-Based Milk Alternatives: A Sensory Study of Potato Milk and Pea Milk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology
This study evaluates plant-based milks as sustainable alternatives to dairy, focusing on their sources, health benefits and sensory attributes. The functional characteristics of selected plant-based milks, including viscosity and bulk density were assessed to determine their suitability for food applications.

Acidification is not involved in the early inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus growth by Lactococcus lactis in milk

open access: yes, 2008
Seventy-five Lactococcus lactis strains were screened for their inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus growth in milk. Most lactococcal strains had a strong antagonistic effect.

GPR124 Alleviates Blood–Brain Barrier Disruption by Enhancing Microvascular Endothelial Function after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...
