Technology of Ohmic Heating for the Pasteurization of Milk for the Pasteurization of Milk

2018
4 5The best voltage for milk pasteurization by using ohmic heating was 80 V compared with 110, 220 V, both of which were inadequate for pasteurization. Heating at 80 V was safer and inexpensive as it required less power (80 V) in contrast with higher voltages (110-220 V) and less dangerous.

Subject: ‘Skim milk’ Technology of skimmed milk evaporation

International Journal of Dairy Technology, 1981
The paper seeks to show how the requirements of skimmed milk concentration are met in modern evaporators and how the type of plant used has developed over the years, the falling film tubular evaporator now being virtually standard. Very economical operation is now possible with sophisticated multiple‐effect plants with thermocompression, and further ...

Milk Salts: Technological Significance

2009
Mammalian milk contains all the essential components to sustain the growth and development of the newborn suckling. Usually, this is taken to mean the protein, fat and carbohydrate, but it must also apply to the mineral components, the milk salts, including the citrates, phosphates and chlorides of H+, K+, Na+, Mg2+ and Ca2+, whether as ions in ...

Introduction of electronics into milking technology

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2001
Abstract In countries, like the former German Democratic Republic (GDR), where ‘industrialized’ milk production in large herds was the goal to be reached, research on automation of machine milking was started more than 30 years ago. Initially, the main goal was to mechanize operations at the end of the milking process.

Microbiology and technology of fermented milks

1997
There are numerous fermented milk products which are manufactured in many countries of the world (Campbell-Platt, 1987; Kurmann et al., 1992), but few are of commercial significance. Cheese-making and fermented milks production are one of the oldest methods practised by man for the preservation of a highly perishable and nutritional foodstuff (i.e ...
