Macrophage Cluster of Differentiation 163 promotes post‐infarction cardiac repair and preserves left ventricular function via osteopontin

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
• Circulating soluble CD163 is elevated in ischaemic cardiomyopathy and correlates with systolic dysfunction severity and ventricular dilation. • Macrophage CD163 protects against post‐infarction systolic dysfunction and left ventricular dilation in mice. • Loss of CD163 decreases macrophage osteopontin expression.

Protective Effects of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. In Myocardial Fibrosis: Inhibition of Mitophagy Mediated by the FOXO Signaling Pathway

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. has the effect of repairing myocardial injury, reducing myocardial hypertrophy, and improving MF. Mechanistically, it acts by inhibiting mitophagy mediated by the FOXO signaling pathway, as validated via network pharmacology, in vitro, and in vivo experiments. ABSTRACT Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb.

Female Sex as a Major Risk Factor for Dabigatran‐Induced Esophagitis in Atrial Fibrillation Ablation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
Dabigatran‐induced esophagitis occurred in 18.7% of patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation. Female sex was identified as an independent predictor of this complication, highlighting the need for careful periprocedural management and preventive strategies in women.

Predictors and Outcomes of Pharmacological and Electrical Cardioversion for Atrial Fibrillation and Flutter in an Indian Emergency Department: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
In a real‐world emergency department study of atrial fibrillation and flutter, cardioversion restored sinus rhythm in 68% of patients. Electrical cardioversion achieved the highest success, while pharmacological and mixed strategies predicted failure. Complications were infrequent but clinically significant.

Sex‐Specific Gene Expression Ontogeny During Gonadal Development in Post‐Metamorphic Xenopus tropicalis

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 93, Issue 4, April 2026.
Post‐metamorphic gonadal development in Xenopus tropicalis was analyzed through integrated morphometric, histological, and transcriptional approaches. Males showed upregulation of cyp17, amh, and amhr2, whereas females exhibited an increased aldh1a2 and ddx4.

A Circadian Trough in Glucocorticoid Signaling Is Essential for Bone Health in Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 4, April 2026.
Flattening the circadian rhythm of endogenous glucocorticoids induces osteoporosis in mice. We demonstrate that reinstating a trough in glucocorticoid receptor signaling stimulates bone formation and suffices to prevent osteoporosis. Reinstating the trough at its natural time of day is needed for full protection.
