Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Expressivism, Minimalism and Moral Doctrines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Quasi-realist expressivists have developed a growing liking for minimalism about truth. It has gone almost unnoticed, though, that minimalism also drives an anti-Archimedean movement which launches a direct attack on expressivists’ non-moral self-image ...

Éduquer dans un monde pluraliste : le minimalisme moral au secours de l’école républicaine ?

open access: yesRecherches en Éducation, 2014
The moral minimalism is characterized primarily by its reference to a no harm principle (OGIEN, 2007). Is this moral option which seems inherently incompatible with the education, still mobilized in school educational practices? If it is, is it a problem

Exploring minimalism

open access: yes, 2020
This research concerns the analysis of ‘minimalism’ in art and architecture in order to determine my position towards ‘minimalism’. Some choices are based on personal preference to find my style within minimalism, which makes this research very much ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Minimalism—Between an Episode and Duration

open access: yes, 2017
This article discusses minimalism and slow life as examples of anti-consumer-oriented social practices. The author presents the assumptions of minimalism and slow life (their similarities and differences), compares minimalism with the idea of voluntary ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Burkean Minimalism

open access: yes, 2006
Burkean minimalism has long played an important role in constitutional law. Like other judicial minimalists, Burkeans believe in rulings that are at once narrow and theoretically unambitious; what Burkeans add is an insistence on respect for traditional ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
