Description and DNA barcoding of Tipula (Pterelachisus) recondita sp. n. from the Palaearctic region (Diptera, Tipulidae)

open access: yesZooKeys, 2012
Tipula (Pterelachisus) recondita Pilipenko & Salmela, sp. n. is described. The new species is collected from two localities: Finland, Kittilä (North boreal ecoregion) and Russia, Primorski kray (Zone of temperate broadleaf and mixed forests ...

Identification of switched linear state space models without minimum dwell time [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009
We consider the problem of identifying switched linear state space models from a finite set of input-output data. This is a challenging problem, which requires inferring both the discrete state and the parameter matrices associated with each discrete state.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

White Matter Hyperintensity Burden and Short‐Interval Change Associated With Sleep Apnoea in the UK Biobank

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We

Alpine crossroads or origin of genetic diversity? : Comparative phylogeography of two sympatric microgastropod species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Alpine Region, constituting the Alps and the Dinaric Alps, has played a major role in the formation of current patterns of biodiversity either as a contact zone of postglacial expanding lineages or as the origin of genetic diversity. In our study, we

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Minimum / Maximum: A small scale dwelling environment within the large scale of Zuidas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This dwelling project aims to create an alternative to the large scale, tower+plinth typology which is common in Zuidas at the moment, instead aiming to design a smaller scale dwelling environment with directer contact between the dwellings and outside ...

A Novel Integrated Model of Train Rescheduling and Station Track Usage Planning Based on Harris Hawks Optimisation Algorithm

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb)
Collaborative optimisation of train rescheduling plans and station track usage schemes has emerged as a popular research topic, which can avoid the risk of plan non-fulfilment due to conflicts between the two problems.
