On the Spreading of Partially Miscible Liquids

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2001
As time proceeds, partially miscible liquids spread as a cap surrounded by a primary film according to power laws, t(n), for both the leading edge (front) and the central cap. The corresponding exponents depend on the thickness, H, of the liquid aqueous substrate and the deviation of concentration from its saturation value, DeltaC=C-C(sat).

A study on the minimum miscibility pressure for miscible flooding systems

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 1993
Abstract The minimum miscibility pressures ( MMP ) of a Chinese reservoir crude oil injected with pure and impure CO 2 have been measured in a RUSKA slim tube apparatus. New correlations are proposed for CO 2 -flooding and lean natural gas-flooding systems, respectively.

Activity Coefficient Relations in Miscible and Partially Miscible Multicomponent Systems

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Fundamentals, 1970
Based on a quasilattice model of a multicomponent soln., 3 equations are derived relating component activity coeffs. to the compn. of a liq. mixt. The equations also apply to systems showing limited miscibility. Temp. dependence of activity coeffs. is built in.

Hypercooling of completely miscible alloys

Applied Physics Letters, 1996
Calorimetric measurements and undercooling investigations were performed on the high-melting, completely miscible binary systems (Co, Ni, Fe)-Pd. The alloys, characterized by phase diagrams with concavous liquidus and solidus lines, exhibit heat-of-fusion values considerably lower than calculated assuming ideal solution behavior.

Prediction of Miscibility

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 1962
Abstract Recent studies of the mechanisms involved when a reservoir fluid isdisplaced miscibly by a light hydrocarbon mixture have resulted in thedevelopment of theoretical methods to predict the approximate conditionsnecessary in order that miscibility may occur.

Fluides non miscibles/fluides miscibles : Des similitudes intéressantes

Completely Miscible Polyethylene Nanocomposites

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2012
A route to fully miscible polyethylene (PE) nanocomposites has been established based on polymer-brush-coated nanoparticles. These nanoparticles can be mixed with PE at any ratio, with homogeneous dispersion, and without aggregation. This allowed a first systematic study of the thermomechanical properties of PE nanocomposites without interference from ...

Transient Interface Sharpening in Miscible Alloys

Science, 2004
We observed that diffuse interfaces sharpen rather than broaden in completely miscible ideal binary systems. This is shown in situ during heat treatments at gradually increasing temperatures by scattering of synchrotron radiation in coherent Mo/V multilayers containing initially diffuse interfaces. This effect provides a useful tool for the improvement
