Shear flow effects on phase separation of entangled polymer blends [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We introduce an entanglement model mixing rule for stress relaxation in a polymer blend to a modified Cahn-Hilliard equation of motion for concentration fluctuations in the presence of shear flow.

Hydrogen‐Bond‐Rich Supramolecular Multiblock Copolymers Facilitate Rapid Zn2+ Migration in Quasi‐Solid‐State Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The disordered growth of dendrites, corrosion, parasitic side reactions, slow de‐solvation kinetics, and inherent safety risks significantly hinder the practical deployment of conventional liquid electrolyte zinc‐ion batteries. In contrast, the novel PU‐EG+DMPA‐Zn polyurethane quasi‐solid‐state electrolyte, enriched with abundant polar functional ...

Selection of appropriate dapsone and poly(1-vinylpyrrolidone-co-vinyl acetate) ratios for the preparation of amorphous solid dispersions

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Drug-polymer miscibility is a critical requirement for the efficient design and development of amorphous solid dispersions. The objective of the current study was to determine the miscibility between dapsone (DAP) and poly(1-vinylpyrrolidone-co-vinyl ...

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...

Thermophysical, and rheological insights of polyethylene/wax blends

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemical Engineering
Blending wax with polyethylene (PE) has garnered significant attention in recent years due to its potential to enhance processing capabilities of polyethylene-based products. The miscibility of polyethylene and low molecular mass wax blends is a critical

Single‐Crystalline Lateral p‐SnS/n‐SnSe van der Waals Heterostructures by Vapor Transport Growth with In Situ Bi Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

Investigation on the Miscibility of Lubricants with Natural Refrigerant R290

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
In order to explore the miscibility of lubricants with the natural refrigerant R290, an experimental device was established. The miscibility of naphthenic oil, paraffinic oil, polyol ester, polyalkylene glycol and alkylbenzene with the natural ...

Transition to miscibility in linearly coupled binary dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate effects of dipole-dipole (DD) interactions on immiscibility-miscibility transitions (IMTs) in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) trapped in the harmonic-oscillator (HO) potential, with the components linearly coupled by a ...

Flash-Point prediction for binary partially miscible aqueous-organic mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Flash point is the most important variable used to characterize fire and explosion hazard of liquids. Herein, partially miscible mixtures are presented within the context of liquid-liquid extraction processes and heterogeneous distillation processes ...
