A Case of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Complicated with both Infratentorial and Supratentorial Cortical Superficial Siderosis: Novel Imaging Findings on Intravoxel Incoherent Motion Magnetic Resonance Imaging Offering Clues to Pathophysiology

open access: yesNeurology International
The pathology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), a disease characterized by papillary edema and increased intracranial pressure (IICP), is not yet understood; this disease significantly affects quality of life due to symptoms including vision

Nanomaterials‐mediated glycolysis rewriting to potentiate tumor immunotherapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes cutting‐edge advances in glycolysis‐rewiring nanomedicines, emphasizing their mechanisms in reversing immunosuppression and reinvigorating antitumor immune responses. Challenges in clinical translation and future directions for designing multifunctional metabolic‐immune modulators are also critically discussed ...

Force stimulation promotes nerve regeneration by restoring cellular energy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Mechanical stimulation can help nerves regenerate in various ways. We developed two devices (a piezo‐motor‐driven stretching device and a SAW‐based actuator) to apply mechanical stimulation to sciatic nerve and DRG neurons. Our study shows that appropriate mechanical force stimulation can promote regeneration by restoring the energy supply to the ...

A review of the historic and present ecological role of aquatic and shoreline wood, from forest to deep sea

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The ecology of forests, their losses, and terrestrial wood decomposition dynamics have been intensively studied and reviewed. In the aquatic realm, reviews have concentrated on large wood (LW) in rivers and the transition from freshwater to marine environments in the Pacific Northwest of North America. However, a comprehensive global synthesis

Dynamics of natural killer cell function upon recurrent stimulation

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Weekly stimulation of peripheral blood‐derived NK cells with engineered K562 feeder cells resulted in two distinct growth phases, shifting around Day 21–26. Cells in growth phase 2 exhibited slower growth, reduced metabolic activity, and lower cytotoxicity than cells from growth phase 1, which has implications for NK cell biomanufacturing.

The C‐Terminal Regions of TRAK Proteins Contain MIRO‐Independent Mitochondrial Localization Domains

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current models suggest that MIRO GTPases anchor cytoskeletal motors to the mitochondrial outer membrane (MOM). However, our previous findings indicate that the unconventional myosin, MYO19, interacts with MIRO weakly and that a MIRO‐independent MOM‐localizing domain interacts more tightly with the MOM.

Progressive Unilateral Moyamoya-like Vasculopathy After Head Trauma with Chronic Subdural Hematoma: A Case Demonstrating the Utility of Anterior Circulation Basi-Parallel Anatomical Scanning

open access: yesNeurology International
Background: Moyamoya syndrome is a moyamoya-like cerebrovascular condition associated with an identifiable underlying condition. Although head trauma has historically been considered a possible contributing factor, it is currently excluded from the ...
