Melatonin Exerts Chondroprotective Effects Against Osteoarthritis by Promoting PI3K/AKT/FoxO3‐Mediated Mitophagy

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent degenerative joint disease. This study combines bioinformatics analysis with in vivo and in vitro experiments to elucidate the molecular mechanisms through which melatonin (MT) regulates mitophagy to alleviate OA.

Phthalate Metabolite, Mono(2‐Ethyl‐5‐Hydroxyhexyl) Phthalate (MEHHP), Promotes Uterine‐Fibroid–Associated Phenotypes in Myometrial Stem Cell‐Derived 3D Organoids

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how phthalate exposure contributes to uterine fibroid (UF) development by studying the effects of the Mono‐(2‐ethyl‐5‐hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), a metabolite of Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, on myometrial stem cells (MMSCs).

Effects of Tributyltin Chloride on Human Neuronal Differentiation and Mice Brain Development

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT According to the developmental origins of health and disease hypothesis, perinatal exposure to an environmental toxicant during the development of the nervous system could cause a permanent cellular modification that may promote the appearance of neurodegenerative diseases at an older age.

Radiomics‐based ultrasOund Model for differentiating Uterine Sarcomas from leiomyomas (ROMUS): a retrospective pilot Multicenter Italian Trials in Ovarian Cancer (MITO) study

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop machine‐learning models that incorporate clinical information and radiomics features extracted from ultrasound images to distinguish uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas. Methods This retrospective, multicenter, pilot case–control study included 200 patients (100 with a uterine sarcoma and 100 with a usual‐type leiomyoma, i.e.

Research advances in the applications of mitochondria‐targeted cyanine dyes in imaging

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Near‐infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging, a novel non‐invasive diagnostic tool, plays a crucial role in the imaging and monitoring of solid tumors. At its core are NIR fluorescent dyes, which are widely utilized due to their ability to minimize tissue autofluorescence interference, thereby significantly enhancing the signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) and ...

Nanobody–chlorin e6 conjugate for Nectin‐4‐mediated tumor targeting and enhanced photodynamic therapy

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Nectin‐4 is frequently overexpressed in solid tumors, yet many PDT photosensitizers show poor water solubility and nonspecific uptake. A Nectin‐4‐targeted nanobody–chlorin e6 conjugate (NPC) improves aqueous solubility and selectively accumulates in Nectin‐4‐positive tumor cells.

Experimental absorption corrections for highly absorbing europium compounds in powder neutron diffraction

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
An experimental method for absorption correction of powder samples containing highly neutron absorbing elements is reported. For materials with strong neutron absorption, such as europium (Eu), the absorption correction method is important but difficult to manage. This is because Eu has a strong isotope dependence. The energy dependence of absorption is
