Vascular Calcification: Mechanisms, Models, and Therapies

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vascular calcification represents an active multifactorial process that mirrors several key features of skeletal bone mineralization. Clinically, it is characterized by diminished arterial compliance and increased arterial wall stiffness, both of which serve as independent predictors of significant adverse cardiovascular events.

N6‐Methyladenosine (m6A) in Liver Disease: Pathogenic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence highlights the critical role of epigenetic modifications, particularly N6‐methyladenosine (m6A), in liver disease. As the most abundant RNA modification in eukaryotic cells, m6A is dynamically regulated by multicomponent m6A methyltransferases (e.g., METTL3 and METTL14), demethylases (FTO and ALKBH5), and m6A‐binding ...

Effects of Gene Mutations on the Prognosis and Treatment Response of Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Following Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy: A Meta‐Analysis and Systematic Review

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, EarlyView.
This meta‐analysis explores the impact of gene mutations on clinical outcomes in locally advanced colorectal cancer (LARC) patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. KRAS mutations are associated with poorer overall survival and lower treatment response, including pathologic complete response.

Alpha‐Synuclein Promotes Anterograde Vesicle Transport in Melanocytes and Melanoma Cells: A Pro‐Survival Function

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, EarlyView.
Model for how α‐syn modulates the positioning of endolysosomes in melanoma cells. (a) α‐syn tethers endolysosomes to the plasma membrane, a last step in anterograde transport. (b) Loss of α‐syn expression causes the loss of the tethering function, which leads to perinuclear vesicle clustering. Reproduced from the open access article.
