Analysis of phosphatases in ER-negative breast cancers identifies DUSP4 as a critical regulator of growth and invasion. [PDF]
Estrogen receptor (ER)-negative cancers have a poor prognosis, and few targeted therapies are available for their treatment. Our previous analyses have identified potential kinase targets critical for the growth of ER-negative, progesterone receptor (PR)-

Metastasis-associated protein 2 (MTA2) is a transcription factor that is highly associated with matrix metalloproteinase 12 (MMP12). Thus, we hypothesized that MTA2 may regulate MMP12 expression and is involved in cervical cancer metastasis.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Receptor for advanced glycation end products aggravates cognitive deficits in type 2 diabetes through binding of C‐terminal AAs 2‐5 to mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase 3 (MKK3) and facilitation of MEKK3‐MKK3‐p38 module assembly [PDF]

A human MAP kinase interactome. [PDF]
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways form the backbone of signal transduction in the mammalian cell. Here we applied a systematic experimental and computational approach to map 2,269 interactions between human MAPK-related proteins and other ...

Parallel Regulation of Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase 3 (MKK3) and MKK6 in Gq-signaling Cascade [PDF]
Heterotrimeric G protein G(q) stimulates the activity of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) in mammalian cells. To investigate the signaling mechanism whereby alpha and betagamma subunits of G(q) activate p38 MAPK, we introduced kinase-deficient mutants of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 3 (MKK3), MKK4, and MKK6 into human embryonal ...

Mechanism of Na+/Ca2+ Exchanger Activation by Hydrogen Peroxide in Guinea-Pig Ventricular Myocytes
Using the whole-cell voltage clamp, we examined the mechanism of activation of the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in isolated guinea-pig cardiac ventricular myocytes. Exposure to H2O2 increased the NCX current.

p38 regulates the tumor suppressor PDCD4 via the TSC-mTORC1 pathway
Programmed cell death protein 4 (PDCD4) exerts critical functions as tumor suppressor and in immune cells to regulate inflammatory pro-cesses. The phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) promotes degradation of PDCD4 via mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (
