Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases and Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatases in Regenerative Myogenesis and Muscular Dystrophy [PDF]
The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway is required to promote skeletal myogenesis and maintain skeletal muscle function. Although it has been long appreciated that the MAPK pathway plays a critical role in skeletal myogenesis it is still unclear as to whether the MAPKs are involved in the development of skeletal muscle ...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells under high‐fat environment constrain harmful reactive oxygen species (ROS) by enhancing glutathione synthesis though upregulating interferon stimulated gene 15 (ISG15). In this process, upregulated high mobility group A1 (HMGA1) enhances ISG15 transcription, upregulated ISG15 subsequently noncovalently binds with ...

By employing a combination of single cell and spatial transcriptomic sequencing, this study presents a stereoscopic response of rice leaf to Magnaporthe oryzae infection. The vascular tissues mount defenses by producing phytoalexins. The immune strength is stronger toward the rice leaf tip than that of the leaf base.

This study reveals that cytoplasmic PABPN1 is essential for mouse oocyte meiotic maturation by coordinating polyadenylation, translation, and degradation of maternal mRNAs. Pabpn1 knockout disrupts CDK1 activation, spindle formation, and chromosome alignment by impairing maturation‐promoting factor (MPF) regulation and BTG4‐mediated deadenylation ...

The present study shows that macrophage WEE1 drives NF‐κB activation and inflammatory atherosclerosis by directly phosphorylating p65 at S536. This finding illustrates a macrophage‐specific WEE1‐p65 axis in regulating inflammatory atherosclerosis and points out new directions to broaden the clinical applications for WEE1 inhibitors in atherosclerosis ...
