Unsupervised Learning with Imbalanced Data via Structure Consolidation Latent Variable Model
Unsupervised learning on imbalanced data is challenging because, when given imbalanced data, current model is often dominated by the major category and ignores the categories with small amount of data.

In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

Z-Stack Scanning can Improve AI Detection of Mitosis: A Case Study of Meningiomas [PDF]
Z-stack scanning is an emerging whole slide imaging technology that captures multiple focal planes alongside the z-axis of a glass slide. Because z-stacking can offer enhanced depth information compared to the single-layer whole slide imaging, this ...

Wearable Battery‐Free Electrotherapy of Smartsensors for Wound Healthcare
Herein, we propose a simple strategy for integrating battery‐free electrotherapy wound dressings with wound sensors. Solid‐state supercapacitors constructed by PMAB with cross‐linked interpenetrating network provide energy for electrotherapy. Meanwhile, excellent mechanical sensing performance of wound dressing was used for wound assessment.

Monitoring Microtubule Mechanical Vibrations via Optomechanical Coupling
The possible disruption of a microtubule during mitosis can control the duplication of a cancer cell. Cancer detection and treatment may be possible based on the detection and control of microtubule mechanical oscillations in cells through external ...

Generation of CCR4/CD7 Bispecific CAR‐T Cells Resistant to Fratricide and Exhaustion
The applications of CAR T‐cell therapy in T‐cell malignancies face limitations such as fratricide, effector‐cell exhaustion, and antigen‐escape. Herein, we developed fratricide‐ and exhaustion‐resistant CAR‐T cells that targeted CCR4 and CD7 simultaneously, with optional EGFRt safety switch. Additionally, scRNA‐seq unveiled new molecular targets, which

In this article, Shuai and colleagues demonstrate that metabolic remodeling drives self‐diploidization in murine haploid ESCs (haESCs). Mitochondrial dysfunction and imbalanced pyruvate metabolism underlie this process. Genome‐wide screening using haESCs identifies key mitochondrial quality‐control related genes, enabling a metabolism‐based medium that

Mitotic Figure Recognition: Agreement among Pathologists and Computerized Detector
Despite the prognostic importance of mitotic count as one of the components of the Bloom – Richardson grade [3], several studies ([2, 9, 10]) have found that pathologists’ agreement on the mitotic grade is fairly modest.

This study investigates how CTCs survive varying shear stress during hematogenous metastasis. We uncover a self‐protection mechanism, by which non‐adherent CTCs adapt to high shearing milieu through accumulated cytoplasmic myosin‐mediated disruption of myosin‐actin binding, attenuating force transmission into chromatin to protect CTCs from shear ...

Tumor metastasis results from complex interactions between cancer cells and mechanical microenvironments. We propose a “nucleus‐centered, cross‐stage mechanical signal decoding” model, highlighting how nuclear mechanosensors interpret forces at different stages.
