Cell Segmentation, Tracking, and Mitosis Detection Using Temporal Context [PDF]
The Large Scale Digital Cell Analysis System (LSDCAS) developed at the University of Iowa provides capabilities for extended-time live cell image acquisition. This paper presents a new approach to quantitative analysis of live cell image data. By using time as an extra dimension, level set methods are employed to determine cell trajectories from 2D ...

Mitosis sequence detection using hidden conditional random fields [PDF]
We propose a fully-automated mitosis event detector using hidden conditional random fields for cell populations imaged with time-lapse phase contrast microscopy. The method consists of two stages that jointly optimize recall and precision. First, we apply model-based microscopy image preconditioning and volumetric segmentation to identify candidate ...

The role of the cell cycle machinery in resumption of postembryonic development [PDF]
Cell cycle activity is required for plant growth and development, but its involvement in the early events that initiate seedling development remains to be clarified. We performed experiments aimed at understanding when cell cycle progression is activated

Effect of Mitosis on the Resistance to Oxidative and Osmotic Stresses in Yeast
Cancercells are defined by abnormal and unrestricted mitotic divisions, thereforetargeting mitosis is a useful strategy for cancer treatment. Two groups ofdrugs that are most successfully used in the treatment of several types ofcancer, taxanes and ...

Association of p60c-src with endosomal membranes in mammalian fibroblasts. [PDF]
We have examined the subcellular localization of p60c-src in mammalian fibroblasts. Analysis of indirect immunofluorescence by three-dimensional optical sectioning microscopy revealed a granular cytoplasmic staining that co-localized with the microtubule

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Mitosis Detection using YOLOv5 and EfficientNet
To accurately assess the prognosis of various tumors, mitosis de- tection plays a crucial role. The objective of the MIDOG 2022 MICCAI challenge is to develop approaches that are indepen- dent of tissue-related domain shifts and tissue types. We pro- pose a two-stage mitosis detection system, utilizing YOLOv5 as the candidate mitosis generator and ...

Phosphorylation of eIF4GII and 4E-BP1 in response to nocodazole treatment: a reappraisal of translation initiation during mitosis [PDF]
Translation mechanisms at different stages of the cell cycle have been studied for many years, resulting in the dogma that translation rates are slowed during mitosis, with cap-independent translation mechanisms favored to give expression of key ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
