Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Hypervisor-Based Multicore Feedback Control of Mixed-Criticality Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
One of the most promising approaches to mixed-criticality systems is the use of multi-core execution platforms based on a hypervisor. Several successful EU Projects are based on this approach and have overcome some of the difficulties that this approach ...

Density of defects and the scaling law of the entanglement entropy in quantum phase transition of one dimensional spin systems induced by a quench

open access: yes, 2011
We have studied quantum phase transition induced by a quench in different one dimensional spin systems. Our analysis is based on the dynamical mechanism which envisages nonadiabaticity in the vicinity of the critical point.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Experimental Evaluation of SAFEPOWER Architecture for Safe and Power-Efficient Mixed-Criticality Systems

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2019
With the ever-increasing industrial demand for bigger, faster and more efficient systems, a growing number of cores is integrated on a single chip. Additionally, their performance is further maximized by simultaneously executing as many processes as ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Decoupling Criticality and Importance in Mixed-Criticality Scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Research on mixed-criticality scheduling has flourished since Vestal’s seminal 2007 paper, but more efforts are needed in order to make these results more suitable for industrial adoption and robust and versatile enough to influence the evolution of future certification standards in keeping up with the times.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Enhancing Performance in Mixed‐Criticality Real‐Time Systems Through Learner‐Based Resource Management

open access: yesIET Cyber-Physical Systems
In mixed‐criticality (MC) systems, tasks with varying criticality levels share resources, leading to challenges in resource management during mode transitions.

Decay of Loschmidt Echo Enhanced by Quantum Criticality

open access: yes, 2006
We study the transition of a quantum system $S $ from a pure state to a mixed one, which is induced by the quantum criticality of the surrounding system $E$ coupled to it.
