Do Graph Readers Prefer the Graph Type Most Suited to a Given Task? Insights from Eye Tracking

open access: yesJournal of Eye Movement Research, 2016
Research on graph comprehension suggests that point differences are easier to read in bar graphs, while trends are easier to read in line graphs. But are graph readers able to detect and use the most suited graph type for a given task?

On the mixed domination problem in graphs

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 2013
A mixed dominating set of a simple graph G=(V,E) is a subset [email protected][email protected]?E such that every vertex or edge not in D is adjacent or incident to at least one vertex or edge in D. The mixed domination problem is to determine a minimum mixed dominating set of G.

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

Correction to “MIMO Characterization on System Level of 5G Micro Base Stations Subject to Randomness in LOS”

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2015
Unfortunately, we had mixed up some results when we plotted the graphs in Figure 7 of the above paper. This affected only the two blue curves in each of the three graphs, for $2\times 2$ MIMO in Random-LOS with LP and CP incidences, and had no ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Degree/diameter Problem for Mixed Graphs

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2015
The Degree/diameter problem asks for the largest graphs given diameter and maximum degree. This problem has been extensively studied both for directed and undirected graphs, ando also for special classes of graphs. In this work we present the state of art of the degree/diameter problem for mixed graphs.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

On the mixing time of geographical threshold graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2011
We study the mixing time of random graphs in the $d$-dimensional toric unit cube $[0,1]^d$ generated by the geographical threshold graph (GTG) model, a generalization of random geometric graphs (RGG). In a GTG, nodes are distributed in a Euclidean space, and edges are assigned according to a threshold function involving the distance between nodes as ...
