Flexible Rasch Mixture Models with Package psychomix [PDF]
Measurement invariance is an important assumption in the Rasch model and mixture models constitute a flexible way of checking for a violation of this assumption by detecting unobserved heterogeneity in item response data.

Makeham mortality models as mixtures: Advancing mortality estimations through competing risks frameworks [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The Makeham term serves as a fundamental component in mortality modeling, offering a constant additive hazard that accounts for background mortality factors usually unrelated to the aging process.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Search Problem in Mixture Models
We consider the task of learning the parameters of a {\em single} component of a mixture model, for the case when we are given {\em side information} about that component, we call this the "search problem" in mixture models. We would like to solve this with computational and sample complexity lower than solving the overall original problem, where one ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Asymptotic behaviour of the posterior distribution in overfitted mixture models. [PDF]
In this paper we study the asymptotic behaviour of the posterior distribution in a mixture model when the number of components in the mixture is larger than the true number of components, a situation commonly referred to as overfitted mixture.

Mixture-model-based CE states provide better interpretation of CE activity.
A) H3K27Ac ChIP-seq signals at active CEs predicted by different methods: only mixture model identified (orange), only peak calling identified (blue), and by both mixture model and peak calling (grey). Percentages of data points for each group are shown.

Asymmetric multivariate normal mixture GARCH [PDF]
An asymmetric multivariate generalization of the recently proposed class of normal mixture GARCH models is developed. Issues of parametrization and estimation are discussed.

Stochastic characterization of navigation strategies in an automated variant of the Barnes maze
Animals can use a repertoire of strategies to navigate in an environment, and it remains an intriguing question how these strategies are selected based on the nature and familiarity of environments.
