Pectenovarin, A New Ovarian Carotenoprotein from Japanese Scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis accumulates carotenoids in the ovary during the maturation stage. Its conspicuous pink color implies the presence of carotenoprotein.

Dynamics of stock for yesso scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis (Jay, 1856) in the northwestern Tatar Strait from the beginning of its fishery to nowadays

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2021
Settlements of yesso scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis in the northwestern Tatar Strait (within the waters of Khabarovsk Region) are considered on the data of scuba (< 20 m depth) and dredge (> 20 m depth) surveys conducted in 2001–2018.

Exploring cadmium-binding proteins in Japanese scallops Mizuhopecten yessoensis: isolation and characterization [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Pollution Research
Abstract Scallops (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) accumulate abnormal levels of cadmium (Cd) in their bodies; however, the chemical form of Cd in vivo remains unclear. In this study, Cd concentrations in various scallop tissues were measured, revealing that Cd predominantly accumulated as a water-soluble component within the midgut gland.

Systematic identification and validation of the reference genes from 60 RNA-Seq libraries in the scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2019
Background Reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is widely used for gene expression analysis in various organisms. Its accuracy largely relies on the stability of reference genes, making reference gene selection a vital step in RT-qPCR ...

Genetic Differentiation between Natural and Hatchery Stocks of Japanese Scallop (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) as Revealed by AFLP Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2010
Japanese scallop (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) is a cold-tolerant bivalve that was introduced to China for aquaculture in 1982. In this study, amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers were used to investigate levels of genetic diversity within M.

Effect of ultra-high pressure on the relationship between endogenous proteases and protein degradation of Yesso scallop (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) adductor muscle during iced storage [PDF]

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X, 2022
This study aimed to explore the effect of ultra-high pressure (UHP) treatment (100–500 MPa, 5 min, 15 ± 1 ℃) on the relationship between endogenous proteases and protein degradation of Yesso scallop (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) adductor muscle during iced ...

Genomic diversity of wild and cultured Yesso scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis from Japan and Canada. [PDF]

open access: yesG3 (Bethesda), 2023
Abstract The Yesso scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis is an important aquaculture species that was introduced to Western Canada from Japan to establish an economically viable scallop farming industry. This highly fecund species has been propagated in Canadian aquaculture hatcheries for the past 40 years, raising questions about genetic ...
