Comparison of quality/quantity mNGS and usual mNGS for pathogen detection in suspected pulmonary infections

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2023
Improved metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS), for example, quality/quantity mNGS (QmNGS), is being used in the diagnosis of pulmonary pathogens. There are differences between QmNGS and the usual mNGS (UmNGS), but reports that compare their detection performances are rare.

Diagnosis of complication in lung transplantation by TBLB + ROSE + mNGS [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Medicine, 2020
Abstract Lung transplantation is a potentially life-saving therapy for patients with terminal respiratory illnesses. Long-term survival is limited by the development of a variety of opportunistic infections and rejection. Optimal means of differential diagnosis of infection and rejection have not been established.

Dual‐band MNG patch antenna for smart helmet [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2018
A novel dual‐band compact patch wireless fidelity (Wi‐Fi) antenna using μ‐negative (MNG) transmission lines (TLs) for the smart helmet is presented. In the smart helmet scenario, rescue agent is able to communicate with the other rescue agents, control centre, and drones via the helmet by Wi‐Fi dual bands.

mNG-tagged mls-2 knock-in alleles in C. elegans

open access: yesmicroPublication biology, 2022
The Caenorhabditis elegans HMX/NKX MLS-2 transcription factor was previously shown to play sequential roles in AWC general identity and the stochastic AWCON/AWCOFF subtype choice during embryogenesis. Here we analyze the expression pattern of endogenous mls-2 during AWC development using mNeonGreen (mNG) knock-in strains. Similar to transgenic GFP::MLS-

Detection of V. vulnificus septic shock with ARDS using mNGS

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences, 2023
Abstract The latest surveillance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that the annual incidence of V. vulnificus infection is increasing. Unfortunately, in less well-known high-risk groups, this infection is usually excluded from differential diagnosis.
