The influence of anchoring of remote supports on the stability of mobile transport and technological machines equipped with boom lift manipulators [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник Брянского государственного университета, 2018
The article presents a mathematical model for calculating the characteristics of stability against overturning for mobile transport and technological machines equipped with boom lift manipulators. This model allows us to perform a quantitative assessment

Cryo-EM structure of a licensed DNA replication origin

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Origins of replication are licensed by loading of MCM onto DNA, and origin firing depends on interaction with Cdc45 and GINS to form two CMG holo-helicases. Here, authors determine the cryo-EM structures of DNA-bound MCM and visualise a phospho-dependent

Operating Point Optimization of Agricultural Tractor–Implement Combinations as Constraint Optimization Problem

open access: yesEng
Increasing the process efficiency of agricultural tasks is a key measure to decrease overall costs and CO2 emissions. However, optimizing tractor–implement combinations is challenging due to the variety of processes and implements and the complexity of ...

Automatic Estimation of Excavator’s Actual Productivity in Trenching and Grading Operations Using Building Information Modeling (BIM)

open access: yesActuators, 2023
This paper discusses the excavator’s actual productivity in trenching and grading operations. In these tasks, the quantity of material moved is not significant; precision within specified tolerances is the key focus.

TECHNIQUE OF FUNCTIONAL UNIFICATION OF ADAPTIVE HYDRAULIC DRIVE MODULE CAPABLE OF LOAD STABILIZATION ON THE WORKING BODY OF MOBILE MACHINES

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2018
Introduction. Issues on the functional unification of the adaptive hydraulic  drive  module  are  studied.  For  the  first  time,  self-adapting   mechanisms   are   considered   taking   into   account adaptive intercommunication of the load control ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
