Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Free vibration of a cracked double-beam carrying a concentrated mass

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2016
This paper presents the free vibration of a cracked double-beam carrying a concentrated mass located at an arbitrary position. The double-beam consisting of two different simply supported beams connected by an elastic medium is modelled by using finite ...

Feeding mode drives mandibular shape in extant Delphinidae [PDF]

open access: yes
Delphinidae is the most diverse family within the toothed whale clade, displaying two biosonar modes, different feeding strategies, and diving and habitat adaptations.

Change in mode shape nodes of multiple cracked bar: I. The theoretical study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In present paper change in position of mode shape nodes induced by multiple cracks in bar is studied with purpose to use for the multiple crack detection from measured mode shape nodes.

Object Segmentation by Shape Matching with Wasserstein Modes

open access: yes, 2013
We gradually develop a novel functional for joint variational object segmentation and shape matching. The formulation, based on the Wasserstein distance, allows modelling of local object appearance, statistical shape variations and geometric invariance in a uniform way.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Fuzzy Dynamic Analysis of a 2D Frame

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2004
This paper deals with the dynamic analysis of a 2D concrete frame with uncertainties which are an integral part of any real structure. The uncertainties can be modeled by a stochastic or a fuzzy approach.

Identification of tension distribution of thin plate using vibration characteristics (Validations of identification accuracy by experiment)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
The flatness of the metal thin plate shape is required in the production lines. Though, the convenient method for measuring small buckles of the thin plate has not been established.

Mode shape expansion using perturbed force approach

open access: yes, 2010
A new approach for expanding incomplete experimental mode shapes is presented which considers the modelling errors in the analytical model and the uncertainties in the vibration modal data measurements.

The pyruvate generator is a common phenomenon in mitochondria from different rat and mouse brain regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).
